When can a case be Reopened?

For most workmen's compensation injuries the amount of compensation you are entitled to will be limited if you return to work at the same employer at the same rate of pay.  It is important to note, however, that if you later lose your job through no fault of your own you can ofter reopen your case for more compensation.  For example, if you are laid off because of company cutbacks you should be entitled to reopen your case.  Also, our firm often sees workers try to return to work to only later realize that they are just not physically able to perform their job anymore.  If you have lost your job after a compensation settlement feel free to call our office to determine if you can seek additional compensation under the Tennessee Workers Compensation laws.
